You can't put a price on love, can you?

ROMANTICS will tell you that you can't put a price on love.

But weddings often come with a price tag that could make your eyes water.

There are costs associated with dresses, suits, shoes, accessories, invitations, flowers, cars, hair, makeup, rings, venue, reception, decorations, entertainment, ceremony, food, drinks, photography and accomm- odation. So how do people pay for their special day?

A recent Australian Securities and Investment Commission survey revealed 82% used their savings, 60% got a loan and 56% of people received contributions from their parents to pay for their big day.

The survey revealed 43% of couples stayed within their budgets, 35% of couple blew their budget and 18% of couples did not have a budget.

The three tips people in the survey had for those looking at planning their weddings was to talk about money early with your partner and parents, not to tell suppliers it was for a wedding and spreading out your wedding bills over several months.
