Cattle trucks not the problem
DRIVERS were not impressed by comments from a Melbourne councillor calling for livestock trucks to be banned from a city route.
The councillor, Nick Reece, said it wasn't "a good advertisement for Melbourne”.
A few drivers pointed out that if the tunnel, which livestock trucks were not permitted to drive through, was built higher so they could, then there wouldn't be this issue.
Tom Smith said it wasn't the livestock driver's fault, it was the metro project's fault and the council's.
"Put your complaints to them. We are only doing our jobs so don't get up our backs for it.”
Tommy Rongwayz said it wasn't just the cattle trucks, city slickers also took issue with other freight like dangerous chemicals.
"They don't want trucks anywhere in Melbourne by the sounds (of it).
"Simple solution, stop sending them and see which group of halfwits cries first when goods and commodities run out.”
