Caterpillar is almost ready to open again

IT'S been almost a year since a devastating fire closed the doors of Caterpillar House Ocassional Day Care, but the light is finally flickering at the end of the tunnel.

Director Rose Franks and her staff were devastated last October when they received a call telling them the oldest day care centre in Coffs Harbour had been completely destroyed by fire.

But, after a long struggle, signage outside the centre says the popular day care centre is almost ready to open its doors again.

“It's been a long time, and we haven't got an official date as yet, but we are hoping to re-open in early or mid September,” a delighted Mrs Franks told the Coffs Coast Advocate.

She said everyone – staff and clients included – were eager to be back.

“There's still a lot of work to be done in the play area, but we are beginning to take our first deliveries of stock next week,” she said.

“We're ready, the staff are ready, we just waiting to get an official date.”
