Perfect weather for the beach

SUMMER is lingering on with temperatures in the mid-20s and the beaches on the Coffs Coast are still patrolled these school holidays.

Coffs Harbour City Council Lifeguards will be on Sawtell Beach, Park Beach, Diggers Beach and Woolgoolga Beach Monday to Friday from 9am until 4pm. Surf Clubs will patrol these beaches and Red Rock Beach on the weekends.

“It’s been quite a fortunate year and we’d like to finish the season that way,” senior lifeguard Sonny Tisdell said.

“Where the patrols are, that is the place to swim.”

Each of the patrolled beaches has their own features, but Mr Tisdell suggests Woolgoolga and Sawtell are great destinations for families.

The Sawtell Beach is walking distance to the village with a cafe fronting the beach.

Woolgoolga Beach has the added benefit of a park and play area perfect for picnics.

Mr Tisdell reminds boardriders, especially novices, to learn the limitations and stick to them.

Weather this week will be mostly fine with temperatures hitting 30 degrees on Thursday.
