Former junior world aerobic champ aims to inspire

WITH the Gold Coast being announced as the host of the 2011 Sport Aerobic World Championships, former Junior World Champion Cassie Scully would love to see more people from Coffs Harbour try to become the champion of the world.

“Now that we've got the Worlds in 2011, it would be mad if we could get as many people as possible involved,” Scully said.

“How good would it be if we had people from Coffs in it?

“I want to get some fitness teams going as it would be great if we could train them up for that.”

Scully's CASS Sport Aerobics and Personal Training has already made a sensational step in the right direction with many of her juniors picking up medals at the recent national championships.

The 'Wicked 6', Scully's Cadet Fitness Team, excelled at Tweed Heads and comfortably finished first to become national champs.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Scully is looking for even more school-aged children to give sport aerobics a try.

“We're going to be getting posters into the schools because there are still so many people who haven't even heard of aerobics and the sport that it is,” she said.

Scully will be starting classes for new beginners in the near future and asks anyone who wants to give it a try to call her on 0422 597 138.
