Star Blue cops ban for head punch

STAR Carlton forward Tayla Harris has been suspended for one game for striking.

The Blue struck her former Lions teammate Leah Kaslar to the back of the head in Saturday night's loss at Ikon Park.

Adelaide's Dayna Cox has also been hit with a ban after two separate incidents involving Bulldogs players.

Cox escaped with a reprimand for striking Ellie Blackburn off the ball but was slapped with a one-match penalty for striking Blackburn's fellow star midfielder Emma Kearney.

Collingwood will be without Sophie Casey for one week after she was offered a one match ban for striking Giants star Cora Staunton, which left the Irishwoman requiring X-rays on a suspected broken nose.

Brittany Bonnici had her match-day report for kneeing Giant Rebecca Beeson dismissed due to lack of force.

Carlton's Katie Loynes, Crow Jenna McCormick and Dockers Ashlee Atkins and Kara Donnellan were all offered reprimands for rough conduct and striking respectively.

All players have the opportunity to fight their suspension at the tribunal.

Match review officer Michael Christian will speak later today regarding his decisions.
