A Nanango man has been killed in a horrific two vehicle traffic crash on Sunday afternoon.

Police said that at 11.30am a white Holden was headed south on the D'Aguilar Highway when it collided with a pig truck travelling in the opposite direction, just south of Nanango-Tarong Road.

The truck was carrying no goods at the time.

Yarraman police OIC sergeant Sean Relf said the single occupant of the Holden, a 32-year-old Nanango man, suffered extensive injuries and was killed upon impact.

The sole male driver of the truck was taken to Nanango Hospital for minor injuries.

Sergeant Relf expressed his dismay at members of the public who had taken video and photographic footage of the scene before emergency crews arrived.

He condemned the behaviour as 'disappointing' and urged the public to refrain from similar behaviour in future.

"They were standing in close proximity to the wreck and they put themselves in danger," Sgt Relf said.

"There was obviously dangerous materials from the vehicle, including flammable liquids and a small fire in the sedan, so it was extremely dangerous for them to be right up next to a scene like that and to be filming is pretty disgusting.

"If the situation is serious, you need to notify emergency services straight away and you need to get away from the scene."

Sgt Relf commended emergency services for their work, particularly volunteer fire fighters and members of the SES who attended the incident.

Forensic crash inspectors are investigating the incident.
