CAMERA House Rockhampton is set for an update and some editing as it moves into new but familiar hands.
After 20 years in the business, and five years in the manager's chair, Dale Winter took the step from manager to owner earlier this month.
Mr Winter said he was dedicated to ensuring the business was refreshed with a local perspective.
"I had been continually frustrated with wanting to do more," Mr Winter said.

"I had been interested in getting into the business for quite a while and getting some local ownership... hopefully by having a more local focus it allows me to get into the community now and have a little more influence, because I am the one who can make those decisions."
And there are many decisions and changes on the books for the specialty store.
Mr Winter said the business would continue to expand the services on offer to customers, while also increasing the product range available.
"You can expect much of the same but we hope to improve services in our lab especially," he said.
"Soon you will be able to print from your phone... Although this generation think it's great that they've got screens, if they don't print they can literally lose all their photographs. We can help them not only print, but also help them with digital storage."
Mr Winter said while the retail trade had been tough for everybody the past few years, it was a matter of local businesses servicing the needs of customers.
And if they don't have what you want, all you have to do is ask.
"I think there are a lot of businesses around in regional areas that don't understand what their customers are after and those customers are going to metro areas and getting those services from there," he said.
"If I don't have something in stock, I know that I can source that and not just dismiss the customer.
"People, as they become more confident to shop in other areas rather than locally, they will continue to shop in other areas than a business who isn't willing to take that extra step."
