Camera is catching the unaware

THIS advice may have come too late for some judging by complaints over recent speeding fines, but the Korora stretch of the Pacific Highway is firmly an 80km/h zone.

Although well advertised, the recent speed limit change at Korora has still caught a large number of drivers off-guard.

Roads and Maritime Services and police have confirmed there's been an increased number of motorists fined for speeding by speed cameras and radar since the speed limit from Bruxner Park Rd was lowered from 100km/h to improve safety on the Sapphire to Woolgoolga worksite.

Electric road signs have advised of the change for weeks, but that hasn't stopped a host of complaint calls to the Advocate from motorists, who have been fined on the stretch since the recent change.

An RMS spokeswoman said the change was temporary and aimed to improve safety for merging traffic approaching the Sapphire to Woolgoolga Pacific Highway upgrade work site.
