Calling all springtime gardeners

GARDENERS are being asked to enter their patches of green in the annual Coffs Harbour Garden Club Spring Garden Competition.

With categories ranging from large to small gardens, floral to native, residential, business and school, there are no excuses not to enter.

Garden Club president Geoff Bell said the spring garden competition had been a popular event on the Coffs Coast calendar for many years, having been first held in 1989.

"It is one of the largest competitions of its kind in NSW, and attracts plenty of out-of-town visitors who come to see the award-winning gardens after they have been judged in September," Geoff said.

"Entry is free again this year, there are some wonderful prizes to be won, plus all residential entrants will be in with a chance to win a great prize. I encourage everyone to get their green thumbs into gear, spruce up their gardens and enter this year's competition."

Enter online or collect a paper entry form from local garden centres or landscape suppliers. Entries close 5pm Friday, September 4.
