Letter to the Editor - July 8: Bypass is pressing issue

WE are concerned about the possible traffic noise if the bypass actually happens in my lifetime.

We live on the city side of Sealy Lookout and can actually hear people talking from our residential address. We can also hear the trains come through the Red Hill tunnels from miles away.

Also when vegetation was cleared to make way for HomeBase we now get truck noise from the Pacific Highway as it travels down past the Big Banana heading towards town.

So yes the sound certainly does swirl around that part of Coffs Harbour and would be a tragedy to all the householders living to the west of the highway with their peaceful area invaded with the drone of constant highway noise, which most definitely happen unless it's taken further out west.
