Button streak continues

THE red-hot form of Coffs Harbour's ace downhill mountain bike rider Josh Button continued over the weekend.

Competing in the Downhill Oceania Mountain Bike Championships in Thredbo, the 19-year-old claimed the bronze medal behind Olympic BMX rider Jared Graves and New Zealand's hot favourite Wyn Masters to follow up from his national series win earned over the summer.

Button will now be heading overseas to compete in the World Cup series which starts in South Africa on April 11.

Strong results in the World Cup series will mean qualifying for the upcoming 2009 UCI World Mountain Bike and Trial Championships to be held in Canberra in early September.
