Buskers opens to massive crowd
THE stage is set for a fun-filled week, judging by the response so far to the Coffs Harbour International Buskers and Comedy Festival.
Promoter John Logan said he was delighted with the opening days of the festival, which runs until this weekend.
He said a sell-out crowd had attended Friday's official launch dinner at the Coffs Ex-Services Club, and he estimated 2500 people took advantage of the perfect weather yesterday to watch performances at the Harbourside Markets and Woolgoolga Reserve.
“We've finally cracked Sunday,” Mr Logan said.
“The Jetty was packed. I'm so happy with how it went. I'm very happy overall. The crowds are 20 to 30 per cent up on last year's. “We've already had two producers from other festivals here.”
Mr Logan said the children's day set down for tomorrow at the BCU International Stadium also looked like being busy.
“If you're thinking about going to kids' day, get your tickets beforehand, otherwise you could be lined up in big queues,” Mr Logan said.
Tickets are on sale at Coffs Music in the Palms Centre and at Eagle Boys in Toormina.
The festival will feature daily at locations across the Coffs Coast. Today you can find it at the City Centre from 10.30am and Park Beach Holiday Park from 3pm.
