PEOPLE looking to start or grow their existing business in the Coffs Coast region are now able to access support from experienced business professional Robyn Simon.

Ms Simon joins the experienced team of business advisers at ETC in Coffs Harbour and is available by appointment to offer subsidised business advice, guidance and support to local businesses as part of ETC’s Small Biz Connect (SBC) contract.

“I’m thrilled about this opportunity and I believe there are exciting times ahead for businesses in this region,” Ms Simon said.

“Our strong retail, hospitality and construction industries and steady increase in population all lead to business opportunities.”

Ms Simon came to ETC after a successful six-year career with the City of Sydney Council managing the city’s business precincts, small bars and laneways program.

“I was responsible for the delivery of initiatives to boost small business including marketing campaigns and business seminars,” she said.

Her extensive career includes the management and marketing of Napier, New Zealand, a city renowned for its art deco architecture, promoting both the city and the region of Hawkes Bay as an international destination for food, wine and architecture.

“In Auckland I played a key role in setting up an industrial park as a business improvement district, one of the first of its kind in New Zealand,” Ms Simon said.

She is keen to apply her wealth of experience to support local businesses.

“It is so exciting to see someone’s idea and passion develop into a business. To be able to support people in the process of taking their vision and turning it into a reality, or helping business owners take their business to the next level of growth and profitability, is something I thrive on,” Ms Simon said.

“Having a small business can be one of the most challenging and rewarding things you can do, and having support and a sounding board during the process can save a lot of time, money and heartache.”

Ms Simon invites businesses to contact her to discuss how the program may assist them, whether they are a start-up enterprise or an existing business.
