Bundy's first frozen yoghurt bar opens in CBD

BUNDABERG residents can beat the summer heat with a cool and healthy treat with the town's first self-serve frozen yoghurt shop now open for business.

Go 2 Yo is owned and managed by the same Bundy locals who run Oasis on Bourbong cafe.

Customers can chose from mango, passionfruit, chocolate, salted caramel, vanilla, watermelon, cookies and strawberry yoghurt with a large range of nuts, lollies and fruit to bring the frozen flavoured wonderland to life.

All eight flavours of yoghurt are 98% fat free and gluten free.

Go 2 Yo's yoghurt selection caters for both coeliac and lactose-intolerant customers, with a dairy-free yoghurt option allowing it to appeal to a wider market.

"The mix of healthy wraps and yoghurt is very seldom seen in other yoghurt franchises," a Go 2 Yo spokesman said.

The idea was inspired by the owners' and their children's love for the refreshing treat and a lack of similar stores.

Two years ago the couple decided they had to start their own franchise and haven't looked back.

"Grab your tub, fill it with yoghurt and maybe add some toppings, then weigh it on the scales to pay $2.90 per 100g," the spokesman said.

Go 2 Yo also offers healthy 12-inch tortilla wraps with six different meats to chose from, and are also selling new gluten free 10-inch tortillas from New Zealand.

The tortillas are made fresh, right before your eyes, and the wraps are $9.80 with toasting available.

Despite not having an official opening day, the store has already had great success and established a steady customer base, the spokesman said.

"We are everyday family people, not the type for glitz and glamour," he said.

"So to calm the nerves of the staff and us owners, it was easier to have a quiet opening day.

"We took one day, Sunday to make sure everything was going okay.

"But we are official open as of Monday, December 12."

Go 2 Yo is open from 9am-9pm seven days a week and is at 110 Bourbong St.
