Brown bobbing into Bellingen

A FEW months ago the Green's candidate for Cowper, John Carty, had a chance to tell Senator Bob Brown personally how well Bellingen had polled in last year's Federal election.

“I told him we polled 38 per cent of the primary vote, maybe the highest in Australia... and we'd love it if he could drop by some time,” Mr Carty said.

And that's exactly what the busy senator is doing. On Friday, October 31 the Mid North Coast Greens are hosting a 'Dinner with Bob Brown' at the Bellingen Showgrounds.

“Bob is on a North Coast tour and he'll speak about 'Coal or Cool? Australia in an Age of Catastrophic Climate Change'. It sounds rather gloomy but Bob is a very engaging speaker and his outlook is very positive.

“He speaks from his heart as well as his head and he talks of hope.”

Mr Carty said local Greens councillors from Bellingen and Coffs Harbour City Councils would also be there on the night.

Tickets are $30 ($20 concession) and include a gourmet buffet and entertainment by Clazzmenco. Alcohol will be available.
