KEN Litchner compiled an impressive century as Rockhampton Brothers scored a comprehensive 139-run victory against Yaralla in their limited-overs clash at Rockhampton Cricket Grounds on Saturday.
Batting at No.4, Litchner racked up 134 as Brothers rocketed to 7-303 off their allotted 40 overs. In reply, Yaralla were bundled out in the 31st over for just 164.
Having won the toss and electing to bat, the Brothers batsmen took charge from the outset but Brothers captain Tim Reid said Litchner had dominated the day's proceedings.
"It was a solid knock from Kenny," he said.
"He hit the ball on its merits and he played some fine cricket shots."
Reece Williams also got among the runs, smashing a rapid-fire 80 while Reid finished with 41.
Yaralla went into the match understrength and as expected struggled to contain the Brothers line-up.
"It didn't help Yaralla that they couldn't field a full team," Reid said.
"It certainly made our job easier."
The Brothers bowlers also made easy work of the Yaralla batsman.
"Our bowlers got stuck in and bowled very well," Reid said.
Nick Lotarski and Kade Horan were the chief destroyers. Lotarski opened the bowling and finished with 2/19 off just four overs while medium-pacer Horan collected 2/37 off eight.
"After that we just shared the bowling around and cleaned them up," Reid said.
Josh Marrinan claimed a wicket with his left-arm off-spin and Jake Olive also picked up a wicket.
After his heroics with the bat Litchner also impressed in the field.
Fielding at first slip, Litchner chased a ball off the bat to short fine leg and in one movement turned and threw the stumps down with a direct hit at the batting end.
The Yaralla batsman was caught short of his crease by a metre.
"Kenny had a good day," Reid said.
"He batted well and then he executed a very nice run out."
