Hooked! Roar catch their Slippery Fish

BRISBANE Roar have signed Henrique just days after saying the Brazilian-Australian would not be returning to the club until next season at the earliest.

Henrique, who won three titles with the Roar before leaving the club in 2016, is available for Brisbane's home clash against Newcastle Jets on Saturday.

"I've been dreaming about this moment for a long time. I always wanted to return to the Brisbane Roar and I'm so happy that this day has come," Henrique said.

"The fans have a special place in my heart and I know I have a special place in their hearts.

"I can't wait to play in front of our supporters, and I promise I will do my very best to reward the fans and the club."

Earlier this week, Roar managing director David Pourre said Henrique would not be re-joining the club this season despite the attacking weapon having been invited to train with the John Aloisi-coached squad.

However, there has been a backflip.

Aloisi was delighted "such a quality footballer" had returned to the Roar.

"Having seen him in action at training this week and speaking to Riki (Henrique) personally, I know how hungry he is to help us be successful this season and we are wrapped to have him back," Aloisi said.

"He's played a significant role in our club's successful past and I'm sure he can't wait to get back out onto Suncorp Stadium this weekend."
