Racing Pigs bring home the bacon

GOING to the races took on a new flavour - a decidedly bacon flavour - at the Woolgoolga Seaview Tavern on Sunday.

Noah's Thoroughbred Racing Pigs - as seen on Australia's Got Talent - attracted hundreds of racegoers keen to see piglets running for their dinner.

At the delicate age of six weeks, the pigs showed remarkable tenacity in finding the location of their dinner bowl, which was moved each race among the hay bales in an obstacle course.

Betting wildly in increments of $2, punters took home the bacon when early favourite - the blue pig - won the first two races.

Children were able to relieve the tension between races in a jumping castle.

Profits from the afternoon's pig racing benefited local junior sporting groups, through the Joker Poker charity.
