Ogle takes part in fundraiser

HIGH profile international golfer and media personality Brett Ogle was a welcome guest at Bonville Golf Resort on Wednesday.

Ogle was the ‘prize’ at the Sawtell Golf Club’s Scott Hardcastle Memorial Fundraiser when Wayne Scott called the winning bid to play a round with the multi-tournament champion.

Bonville’s marketing manager Damien Tarbox said Wayne was able to bring some mates as playing partners as part of the deal.

“There’s a local connection between Brett and the Hardcastle family so it was great to welcome him back to Bonville,” he said.

“After getting in some quick practise, Brett was able to go around the course on even par.

“But the best round was from Adam Wood who finished up two under the card.”

Meanwhile, Ogle has congratulated Lee Westwood for rolling Tiger Woods from his top international ranking, the first time in 281 weeks.

“You can’t deny the Englishman has had a terrific run the past two years with two European Tour victories and one on the PGA Tour at this year’s St Jude Classic,” he said.

“Lee’s been impressive in majors with four finishes of third or better in his last eight attempts.”
