Brelsford Park new venue

A MASSIVE change is on the cards for September's Coffs Harbour International Buskers and Comedy Festival.

The event, which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary, is moving out of the city centre and instead will be based at Brelsford Park.

Organiser John Logan said the move marked a coming of age for the festival.

"The park provides a great opportunity to expand, try new ideas, bring in new concepts and most importantly, we can grow into it," Mr Logan said.

" I saw the Garden of Unearthly Delights, which was a park adjacent to the city centre at the Adelaide Fringe two years ago, and absolutely loved it," he said.

"One of the best concepts I saw was a wall where kids had to find the hole to climb through into a magical new world.

"I also want to bring in a wet slide and set up sponsors' displays."

Mr Logan said Buskers Fun Park, as it would be known, would sit perfectly between the new skate plaza and the children's playground.

"With ample parking in the four streets that surround, it looks like a natural winner," he said

Mr Logan said the Buskers Fun Park would operate from Wednesday, September 24, to Saturday, September 27, and include a night fire show.

He said admission would be free, with the buskers putting out the hat as usual.

Mr Logan wanted to hear from food and amusement ride providers happy to help turn Brelsford Park into the Buskers Fun Park
