UPDATE 4.53PM: THE siege at Karalee which has lasted for close to two hours has ended.

The man at the center of the siege was led from the house in handcuff by police.

EARLIER 4.30pm: A SECOND police SERT crew has arrived on the scene of the developing Karalee siege.

Police blocked off several streets in Karalee after declaring an emergent situation was declared an hour ago.

Heavily armed tactical squad officers are currently outside the semi rural address in Elanora Way.

Police are currently placing stingers on the road at the intersection of Elanora Way and Bendemeer St.

An exclusion zone has been established which encompasses Elanora Way between First Ave and Bendemeer Street and south to the Bremer River.

Officers are asking people to avoid the area.

It is believed the man is alone in the house.

EARLIER 3.30PM: POLICE are an armed stand-off with a man at Karalee.

An emergency situation has been declared under the Public Safety Preservation Act at an address on Elanora Way following reports of an altercation.
