Bowraville man charged with drug and firearm offences

A 62-year-old man has been charged with drugs and firearm offences after police searched a Bowraville home yesterday.

At about 10.30am, detectives from the Mid North Coast Local Area Command searched a home on Valla Rd where items including illicit drugs and a rifle were allegedly seized.

Police allegedly located and seized cannabis plants, cannabis seedlings, cannabis leaf, an unregistered 0.22 calibre loaded rifle, and ammunition.

It will also be alleged that electricity at the premises had been bypassed.

The man at the home was charged with seven offences including cultivating a prohibited plant, possessing prohibited drugs, possession of an unregistered and unauthorised firearm and larceny.

The man will appear at Macksville Local Court on October 14.
