Boost for Roosters as winger cleared of serious injury
FORMER NSW winger Daniel Tupou has given a boost to the Roosters after being cleared of a serious groin injury.
The club's medical staff were worried Tupou could be out for a while after limping off in the 18-16 win over the Broncos on Saturday.
But scans revealed a minor groin strain.
"Tupou will train with the squad throughout the week as per usual and is likely to line up for his side against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon," the club said in a statement.
Tupou, meanwhile, has accepted a fine from the NRL judiciary for his grade-one careless high tackle on Brisbane's Matt Gillett in the first half of the match at Allianz Stadium.
The battling Tigers host the fourth-placed Roosters at Campbelltown.
