AUSTRALIAN writers are bringing a wonderful touch of reality to romantic fiction, with less heaving bosoms and more down-to-earth love in the dust, so to speak.

Jilted is one of these "rural romances" and a good one at that.

It centres on top soapie actress Ellie Hughes who's sick of the fame and limelight and heads home to the country town of Hope Junction to care for her ailing grandmother.

Ellie's intention is to keep a very low profile as she doesn't want to stir up feelings from 10 years ago when she left the very handsome Flynn Quartermaine at the altar to pursue her career.

But everyone is soon gossiping about her return and about why she broke the town golden boy's heart.

Soon the pair is thrown together and Ellie finds she's not the only one with secrets; Flynn has a few of his own demons to battle.

Will they heal their wounds, or will Flynn get jilted again?

Jilted is a warm novel that will by much enjoyed by romance fans.
