Book in for library workshop

A SERIES of Community Workshops are being held next week as part of the public consultation to develop a strategic plan for the whole Coffs Harbour library service.

The plan - based on usage data, developments within the library sector and the views of the community - will draw together key priorities for the future of Council's Library Service.

"A survey has already been launched to help gather community feedback on what people like about their local library, what they don't like, where we can improve and what people want to see us provide in the future," Library Manager Enzo Accadia said.

"We're also inviting everyone to come along to a Community Workshop too, so we can hear from them in person."

The workshops are being held at each branch to make it as easy as possible for people to take part.

Anyone wishing to attend is being asked to RSVP for planning purposes by Monday either by phoning 6648 4900 or emailing coffs.library@chcc.nsw.gov.au.

The Community Workshops are being facilitated by Library Consultant Roger Henshaw and are being held at:

  • Toormina Library on Tuesday, April 3, at 10am.
  • Coffs Harbour Library on Tuesday, April 3, at 5.30pm.
  • Woolgoolga Library on Wednesday, April 4, at 2pm.
  • There is also a Youth Focus Group workshop planned for Wednesday, April 4, at 4.30pm at Coffs Harbour Library. Interested people aged between 13-19 are asked to contact the library on 6648 4900 to register your details.

The library survey began this week and forms can be obtained at each of Council's libraries at Coffs Harbour, Toormina, and Woolgoolga.

It can also be accessed via Council's website at www.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/onexhibition as well as the Library website at http://libraries.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au.

The survey will be open until the end of April and the survey results will be reported back to Council and the community.

The Library Strategic Plan is expected to be completed by July 2012.
