Bonville serves up two more plates
THE fine dining experience at Bonville Golf Resort has been recognised again.
At Monday night's Northern Region/New England Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence held in Newcastle, the Bonville team picked up two highly sought after 'plates' on the night.
The two awards were an honourable mention in the Event Caterer category and the highly sought after major award - Caterer of the Year.
This was an amazing seventh time that Bonville was given the prize for being the Caterer of the Year.
The collection of plates at Bonville Golf Resort is now the envy of the industry with 40 in total won over the last 11 years.
The Golf Resort's business operations and marketing manager, Damien Tarbox, said the awards were a just reward for a hard working team.
"It's awesome recognition for 80 staff that we've got here and in the food and beverage side of things there's 35 to 40 staff," Mr Tarbox said.
"It's a great pat on the back at the end of the day for their 365 days a year commitment to the food and beverage here in the restaurant, functions, weddings and conferences."
As the general manager, Brad Daymond said the awards solidify Bonville's reputation as not only a great golfing venue but a top class resort.
"With corporates, it gives them confidence when they see what you've won before they come, it means that they know they're making the right choice," Mr Daymond said.
"So they're not going to choose 'we're going to this country club, what's it going to be like?'
"They look at that reputation and say 'I feel secure in my choice'."
Other Coffs Coast restaurants were also successful on the night.
Fiasco Restaurant claimed an honourable mention in the Italian Restaurant category.
The picturesque Saltwater Restaurant at Emerald Beach won Best Breakfast Restaurant, Café Treeo of Sawtell won Best New Restaurant and Sawtell eatery, Taste Restaurant, also picked up an award.
"It's great to see other Coffs Coast restaurants win awards as we recommend many of our groups and visitors to these great restaurants for our guests to add to the Coffs Coast dining experience," the general manager said.
