Bonville Golf Resort rated no.1

AUSTRALIA’S leading golf publication Golf Australia announced Bonville Golf Resort this week as the best public access golf course in New South Wales.

Bonville has been recognised as the state’s best for its course design, course conditions and aesthetics.

The latter of that trio also saw the course named as Australia’s most beautiful mainland golf course for an amazing 10th consecutive year by the Golf Course Guide.

This list identified the country’s best 100 public access courses from more than 1100 public access courses available to play a minimum five days a week.

Bonville has this type of access seven days a week and will be played by thousands of visitors on the Coffs Coast over the summer holiday period looking to play the best of the best of Australia’s public access golf courses.

Bonville improved its previous ranking by two spots.

This places the course 12 spots higher than its nearest NSW competitor, The Vintage in the Hunter Valley. Pacific Dunes at Port Stephens rounded out the state’s top three courses listed at number 28 on the list. Coffs Harbour’s Lakes Course narrowly missed out on making the top 100, placing in the ‘Next 20’ list after receiving some votes from the 20-member judging panel. “This ranking reflects the ongoing improvements to both the golf course itself and the ‘Bonville experience’ and sees us as one of only two courses in the top 10 that improved their position with many others slipping,” Daymond said.

“The past 12 months have seen our course superintendent Chris Neal and his energetic team working tirelessly on completing a bunker refurbishment program of all up reshaping, designing and replacing drainage in all 60 bunkers on course as well as increasing the level of daily presentation, overall consistency and general conditioning of the golf course.

“These factors have all contributed to Bonville climbing in rankings such as this.”
