Bobcats regain form in bid for last finals spot

MACLEAN has a chance to claim the last finals spot up for grabs with a win against Westlawn this afternoon.

The Bobcats sit in fourth spot, three points ahead of Sawtell, with victory today stretching the lead to six.

With the Scorpions facing a poorly timed bye week, they will be hanging on the result from Maclean's Barry Watts Oval to see if their season is still alive.

The Bobcats' opposition is a struggling Tigers' outfit fresh off a repeat loss to bottom side Boambee.

Despite flying high at the start of the season, Maclean's form has cooled over the latter stages of the season. A win today will ensure the Bobcats are a side to keep an eye on in the finals.

Woolgoolga will host Coffs United in another of this afternoon's big clashes. While the Lions have all but wrapped up a top-four spot, Woolgoolga will still be looking to make things as difficult as possible for the reigning premier.

When the two sides met earlier this year the Wolves forced an entertaining 3-3 draw.

The Lions still have a chance of claiming the minor premiership but will need to rely on the Storm dropping one of its final two games.

Coffs Coast Tigers will need to be at their best to get a much-needed home win against Urunga when the two sides go head to head to head tonight at Polwarth Dr.

The Raiders have been the form side in the competition over the final stages of the season and have a top-two finish in their sights.

Coming off the bye, the Tigers will be hoping to claim a surprise win against an Urunga side battling suspension issues following its torrid clash with Coffs United last round.

Top side Northern Storm wraps up the round with a trip to bottom-placed Boambee tomorrow.
