PARK Beach Bowls Club is proud to be supporting the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Australia and the local Cancer Unit in Coffs Harbour through a week of fundraising events kicking off with a Twilight Charity Bowls night on Thursday at the club under the banner of Coffs Coast Blue Ribbon Week.

In Australia prostate cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in men with more men losing their lives to prostate cancer than women who die of breast cancer every year.

The Park Beach Bowls initiative Coffs Coast Blue Ribbon Week aims to raise funds and awareness amongst the community in combating this devastating disease.

"I have been fortunate enough to meet so many volunteers, and have been blessed to be part of their numerous fundraising events. This has allowed me to witness their closeness to one another and their desire to help others less fortunate than themselves. Their passion has inspired the Club to make these fundraising events a success", said Park Beach Bowls Club CEO Grant Walden.

The club is holding a Twilight Charity Bowls night as part of their fundraising efforts from 6pm on Thursday, a fun, social event open to over 18s. Local businesses and community groups are invited to create a team and come along for what promises to be a fantastic night.

Entry fee for the night is just $10 per person and includes a sausage sizzle. Teams are made up of three people but those people without a team will be accommodated for on the evening. Bowling will be barefoot of flat soled shoes and bookings can be made by calling the Club on (02) 6652 3622 or just show up on the night.

The club has set goal of $10,000 to fundraise over the Coffs Coast Blue Ribbon Week events and encourages the community to get behind them and show their support.
