Terry Carr to race Tier today

EX-DARLEY filly Tier debuts for Coffs Harbour trainer Trent Greentree at Grafton today with the aid of a couple of lucky charms.

The three-year-old, raced by Sydney-based Terry Carr, steps out in the Bettortrader Maiden (1100m) with Glenn Lynch in the saddle.

Previously trained by Peter Snowden for Sheikh Mohammed, Tier will be out to continue an amazing strike rate the Greentree stable has enjoyed with horses from the same background.

“Through Trevor Lobb (Darley bloodstock manager) I’ve had about half a dozen horses and all have won for us,” Greentree said.

“Horses like Cascade, Rosewater and Student come to mind and there are others too.

“It’s been a great strike rate and hopefully Tier can continue the trend, beginning today.”

Greentree’s other luck charm is Carr.

“Terry is one of my major clients,” Greentree said.

“The first horse he ever raced was Patezza who won a Doncaster (2005) and close to a couple of million dollars.”

Patezza, formerly trained by Guy Walter, won eight races and $1.78 million prize money.
