Blogger on world stage
SUPERSTAR motivational speaker and former Woolgoolga High School student Katie Pitsis continues to amaze with her achievements, this time with her blog being published on The Huffington Post.
The long-time Mullaway local this week was published on the world's largest online newspaper site.
Her blog, Why I'm So Glad You're Not Good Enough, was published this week.
"Basically three weeks ago I emailed a submission of my blog to the Huffington Post, not really expecting anything from it, but wanting to put myself out there, share my passion, my voice and my advice," Katie said.
"The next day I was completely thrilled and surprised to see an email sitting patiently in my inbox from no other than the founder of Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington, saying that she'd love to have me as a voice for Huffington Post.
"So here I am two weeks later, published on Huffington Post, and still pinching myself."
Katie has just left the country to speak at the Harry Singha Foundation's Youth Summit in London and is then off to Norway for a snowboarding holiday.
"I try to live my life courageously, and make the most of opportunities that come my way and if they're not there I'll go chasing them. I think my biggest fear is getting to the end of my life and wondering 'what if', so I just go for things like this, no matter how big or impossible they may seem, I figure you never know until you give it a go.
"And it seems to be paying off."
Katie is the founder of Free Spirit Girl, a support network aimed at giving teens and pre-teens confidence and skills to have a happy life.
