Blair appointment fills Group 2 coaches list

THE LAST piece of the Group 2 coaching puzzle now fits with the appointment of veteran utility Cameron Blair to lead Nambucca Heads.

Blair replaces Peter Barrett, who took the Roosters to within one game of a grand final appearance in a comeback season.

His task has been made difficult by the loss of Rex Hardaker Memorial Player of the 2015, Jay Melrose, who is taking his supreme attacking skills to the NSW South Coast.

The big plus is that likelihood star front-rower James Livock is ready to maintain his rating as the form forward of the competition.

Meanwhile, senior Country Rugby League representative football returns to the region in 2016 with Coffs Harbour chosen to host round two of the championships.

North Coast will play northern neighbour NRRRL with the exact venue to be finalised.

February 28 has been set aside for the Hoey Moey- Tooheys Coffs Coast 9s at Geoff King Motors Oval.

The junior league has announced plans to create a girls' Leaguetag competition.
