Bikie shopping centre shooter has appeal denied

THE bikie who shot a woman and a rival gang member in a Robina shopping centre in 2012 has had his appeal dismissed.

Mark James Graham had appealed a 12-year jail term he was given last year.

Former Mongols and Finks bikie Graham claimed he had fired his pistol at Bandidos member Jacques Teamo in self-defence when Teamo pulled a flick knife on him - and said the trial judge had failed to direct the jury about that.

He also claimed the term of his sentence was excessive.

But Court of Appeal Justice Roslyn Atkinson dismissed his claims.

"The sentence imposed was not imposed on a wrong or inadequate factual basis. Nor could it be said to be manifestly excessive," she ruled.
