Bikes in the back, ready for the track

STUDENTS were up and ready by early morning for a bike excursion to Jacks Ridge during their school holidays.

Keen and ready to go, 27 students from Woolgoolga High School loaded up their bikes and headed down to the mountain bike park at Nambucca Heads.

Led by three teachers and with the help from parents, the successful day was made up of students racing over jumps, berms and perfect skid sections.

With most students covering between 20-35 kilometres, teacher Aaron Newman said they were were extremely pleased with the track and had a tonne of fun.

"Parents commented the kids were still frothing and talking about it when they got home that night.

The original date for the ride in late June was postponed due to the amount of rain but students were happy to go ahead during the holidays.

"All in all a positive thing to take out of their schooling life. Life is better on a bike,” he said.
