Biggest day for school
PROSPECT Creek State School is hosting its biggest fundraiser of the year to help students go to the nation's capital.
Market Day Fair is just around the corner with a host of activities for the whole family.
Prospect Creek State School P&C president Sherilee Evans said the fair is an opportunity to get the kids to camp.
"This is our major fundraiser,” Ms Evans said.
"This year our grades 4-6 are going to Canberra camp.
"The school and the P&C put in money to keep parents' expenses down.
"It goes towards camp and anything else the school needs.”
Activities at the fair will include face painting, pony rides, market stalls, raffles and live entertainment from a talented local artist.
"There will be free rides, pony rides, the Men's Shed is bringing a train for kids to ride on,” Ms Evans said.
"There will be 30 market stallholders on the day.
"The multi-draw raffle's first prize is a car fridge to the value of $1300 with another 10-20 prizes in the raffle.
"Ashley Cook, one of our locals, will perform.
"We've had him perform here for a few years now.”
