Big swell for surf boat series

THE sixth round of the Tooheys North Coast Surf Boat Series took to the beaches of Minnie Waters with difficult conditions on offer for all competitors.

Constant four to five foot swell made the going tough in all races for the over 40 crews entered in the event.

Event spokesman Tony Benfield stated the event featured tough racing across all divisions.

"The big swell made it very interesting for everyone out there but in the end all crews managed to stay competitive," he said.

"Red Rock took out the A division race in impressive style hanging on against some tough opposition late on."

Woolgoolga SLSC was one of the day's big winners taking out the Women's and under 19's races.

The Series now moves to Bonny Hills on January Seven with Woolgoolga leading Wauchope in the overall points table.
