Big bushfire bash

AFTER witnessing the destruction of the Victorian bushfires in the media, Bill Trembath and Evan McMillan couldn't stand by and do nothing.

The local event organisers decided to make use of their skills and contacts and organised the Coffs Caring Community Concert, to be held at the Coffs Harbour Showground this Saturday, March 14, from noon to 8pm, raising funds for the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Eight local bands (Apewire, Hot Cargo, Mad As A Hatter, Shaggpile, Brutt 66, Beztafriendz, Bender and Gusto) will take to the Woodlands Stage in the leafy area at the back of the showground for this family friendly event, which will also feature a fundraising barbecue.

Soft drinks and water will also be on sale to raise funds for the appeal, however patrons are invited to bring their own picnic.

Admission is $10 adults, $5 children, and a gold coin donation for children less than 10 years of age. Tickets are available at the gate.

Along with the Coffs Showground Trust other local businesses making this event possible by donating their services and equipment are Oxley Insurance Brokers, Kustom Security, Country Security, Mid Coast Traffic Control, St Johns Ambulance, Coates Hire Service, Temporary Fence Hire, Jamon Music, the RTA, ABillyT Sound and the Local Made crew.

For more information or to volunteer to help on the day phone Bill on 0421 000 617 or Evan on 0400 453 757.
