Big Brother house to stay, for now

DESPITE rumours the Big Brother house at Dreamworld was being dismantled this week, Channel 9 has no plans to abandon the reality show just yet.

The broadcaster still has the rights to the series, which it brought back to our screens in 2012 after eight high-rating seasons on Channel 10 from 2001 to 2008.

A 2015 season seems increasingly unlikely after low ratings last year.

"We have no plans to bring it back at this stage, it is however still in consideration so we are certainly not ruling it out," said Andrew Backwell, Managing Director of Programming and Production for the Nine Network.

"We also believe it would work brilliantly on GO! but we need to work through a business case to see if the investment was viable."

Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson has also reportedly dismissed claims the house, located on the grounds of the Gold Coast theme park, is being dismantled.

Meanwhile, last year's winner Ryan Ginns recently opened his South American-Asian fusion restaurant Luis Tan in Sydney's trendy suburb of Bondi with business partners Nathan Joliffe, Raul Gonzales and Shane Moran.
