IF you're looking for the best breakfast in regional New South Wales, you don't have to go very far.
Bluebottles Brasserie in Woolgoolga can officially deliver just that, after taking out the Best Breakfast Restaurant category at the 2008 Restaurant and Catering NSW/ACT Regional Awards for Excellence last week.
The brasserie beat out the best of the best in the Hunter, Central Coast, Northern, South Coast, Blue Mountains and Southern regions to claim top spot, and owner, Gayle Ackers, couldn't be happier.
“I just couldn't believe it when they called out our name,” she said.
“I wasn't even going to the awards, but I decided to at the last minute. I didn't tell any of the staff I was going, because I didn't want to get their hopes up. “We've never got this far before, we're all really happy.”
And they weren't the only ones. Other winners along the Coffs Coast were Pacific Bay Resort, who took out the Best Hotel Caterer category, and SSS BBQ Saloon Bar for being the Best Themed Restaurant.
All three now move on to the national awards, to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
