Bernadette makes it to finals

BERNADETTE Petersen's people skills and her thirst for learning has taken her to the top of the trainee tree in Northern NSW.

The Emerald Beach plumbing shop staffer is one of three finalists in the North Coast Trainee of the Year Award.

“She is absolutely amazing,” said Pandora Colledge who owns and operates Emerald Beach Plumbing with her husband Peter Coulson.

“She topped her class and with her personality and people skills, she's a great window to our company.

“When she arrived last year she had no knowledge of plumbing at all – now she advises people about it.”

Ms Petersen, who previously worked in hospitality for 12 years, said she was overwhelmed to have made it to the finals.
