Bennett eases Blair injury concerns
BRISBANE Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has dismissed injury concerns around forward Adam Blair, saying the prop will play the Bulldogs on Thursday night despite having a corked calf.
Blair finished training early during the Broncos captain's run at Red Hill on Wednesday to get treatment for the injury suffered in last Friday's win over Canberra.
It was a minor scare for the Broncos as they prepare to come up against the giant Canterbury pack in their Round 5 NRL match at ANZ Stadium, but Bennett said he expected Blair to be fine.
The Brisbane coach said the Broncos were not planning on taking an 18th man to Sydney to cover for Blair.
"He'll play," Bennett said.
"He's got a cork underneath his calf muscle and it's just tightened up a little bit. But I'm pretty confident he's okay to play. We won't take an 18th (man) at the moment."
The rest of the Brisbane squad got through training well, with gun half Anthony Milford the centre of attention ahead of his 100th game on Thursday night.
The only squad member missing was Kodi Nikorima, who is fighting an ear infection.
