Bello ready for Locke charity match

THE third annual Sergeant Matthew Locke Charity Match is on this Saturday when the Australian Army Rugby Team goes up against the Bellingen Valley Dorrigo Rugby Team.

The Army Thunder team have already arrived in Bellingen and are busy visiting schools and enjoying other local activities.

Special guest at the match will be recent Victoria Cross recipient Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith.

Money raised from the event will be used to support Legacy, the Grub Club Education program, Bellingen Valley Dorrigo Junior Rugby League, Urunga Nippers and North Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.

The gates will open at 2.30pm with the under 13s playing the exhibition opening match. The main feature kicks off at 5.30pm.

The event is family-oriented with lots of raffles and fun throughout the afternoon. Entry is $5, pensioners are a gold coin donation and children under 15 free.
