Bellingen goes crazy for a day

BELLINGEN’S reputation as a laid-back and relaxed place to get away from it all was turned on its ear on Saturday when the town centre was choked with cars and people.

The annual Crazy Day celebrations, where retailers offered great discounts at footpath stalls and inside their establishments, drew shoppers and browsers from across the Coffs Coast in their droves. Add the monthly markets and new exhibitions opening at the Big Sky Gallery and getting into and around Bellingen required more patience than usual.

Live music, colourful characters and stunning weather added to the party atmosphere.
