Titivators paddle for Trish

AS THE oars hit the water and the boat glided along the Kalang River, thoughts were of Trish Sanders, one of the founding members of the Titivators Coffs Coast Dragon Boat Club.

Trish lost her battle with cancer earlier this year and to mark what would have been her 65th birthday last week, the Titivators honoured her with a special paddle.

Trish’s favourite flower had always been the frangipani, so paddlers picked frangipanis from her garden and wore the petals in their hair.

“Trish was paddling with us that morning in spirit and everyone agreed it was a fitting tribute to a wonderful member of our club.”

The Titivators Coffs Coast Dragon Boat Club is an eclectic group of people from diverse backgrounds brought together by a common thread – they are all cancer survivors or supporters who come together for fun and fitness and to give support to those members who require support.

Last Friday night the Christmas Party at the Urunga Sailing Club, on the banks of the Kalang River, was a chance to put down the paddles and party.

New members are always welcome and anyone wishing to join should contact the Club by email titivators coffscoast@hotmail.com or go along to the Urunga Sailing Club on Saturdays by 7.30am.
