A GALE warning is in force for the Coffs Coast with a severe weather warning now issued for parts of the Mid North Coast.
A strong cold front has moved over New South Wales bringing vigorous winds, very cold conditions and snowfalls to low elevations.
A low forming offshore of the South Coast deepened overnight and is moving slowly to the northeast into Monday.
Damaging winds around 65 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are forecast for the Hunter, Illawarra and Central Tablelands forecast districts and parts of the Mid North Coast, Northern Tablelands for the remainder of Sunday.
The State Emergency Service advises people should move vehicles under cover or away from trees, secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony, and keep clear of fallen power lines.
