Baringa the big achiever
UP THERE with the state's finest private hospitals is our very own Baringa.
A survey of NSW private hospitals compiled by Medibank Private and based on more than 20,000 responses has rated Baringa Private Hospital in Coffs Harbour as the third best.
The nationwide survey of patient satisfaction covers every stage of the hospital experience, from pre-admission to discharge and follow-up, with respondents sharing their thoughts on everything from the standard of medical treatment provided to privacy levels, food quality and cleanliness.
Baringa outscored many larger city based hospitals for the prestigious prize.
In fact, regional hospitals scored well in the survey with Armidale Private Hospital topping the state, Nowra Private Hospital coming second and Baringa tied with Warners Bay in equal third place (all these hospitals are owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care).
Baringa Private Hospital chief executive officer Elizabeth Ruthnam said: "We are thrilled with this award and our achievement.
"It is very rewarding for our staff and doctors to receive this feedback independently.
"We have a great team at Baringa, who work very hard to ensure our patients have an excellent experience and they really deserve this accolade."
