Bands battle it out at fountain on mountain

THE foundations of the Seaview Tavern will be rocking this Saturday night, as six local bands fight it out for the title at the grand final of the Battle of the Bands.

Presented by Offbeat Operations, the competition has seen more than a dozen local bands rocking out each Saturday night in February, each with the hope of taking out the crown.

And it's been a tough choice, but the field has finally been whittled down to six. Keogh, Loco Parentus, The Wet Symphonics, Showroom Special (formally known as mainstream), Belief in Aeroplanes and Nine Sons Of Dan will take to the stage on Saturday.

The winning band will receive $1000 cash, and every band in the final will be videoed and recorded for use on myspace, websites or any other sites for their promotional use. Offbeat Operations will also provide gigs to bands, including suited support slots for major touring bands.

Doors open at 6pm, upstairs at the Seaview Tavern, Woolgoolga.
