Bandits still on the run

TWO men who held up a Coffs Harbour supermarket remain on the run and police need your help to catch them.

The pair – one was brandishing a shortened firearm – stormed the Five Star Supermarket in Bray Street at 8.15pm on Friday.

They demanded money from two female employees and ran off with a small amount of cash, police investigators said.

The bandits made no threats to the staff and no customers were in the store at the time.

They were last seen running into nearby Norfolk Crescent.

Detectives and general duties police were scrambled to the crime scene but could find no trace of the men.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the pair either entering or leaving the supermarket or lurking in the nearby neighbourhood to contact them.

One of the men is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his mid to late 20s, about 180cm tall, with a slim build, dark eyebrows, wearing a dark jumper, long dark pants and carrying a bag. The other is described as Caucasian in appearance and 164cm tall.

If you can help with the investigation, contact Coffs Harbour detectives on 6652 0299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
