Fight to stop Bonville development

STRATEGIES to stop a multi-million dollar development in its tracks will be formulated at a meeting in Bonville tonight.

The Bonville Action Group (BAG) believes a council decision on rezoning of land at Bonville International Golf Resort to facilitate a new residential development is imminent.

“We have previously been told that council will decide on the matter at a meeting at the end of April,” BAG member John Cummings told the Coffs Coast Advocate.

“At tonight’s meeting we want to finalise our plans to stop the project from going ahead,” he said.

Those against the rezoning application are being asked to bring along copies of their rates notices to the meeting which is set down for the Christian Community High School at 7pm.

“We will be asking people to write their objections to the development on the back of the copies of their rates notices. We will then hand those protest notes to the mayor.”

Mr Cummings said all the city’s councillors had been invited to the meeting.
